Use fake flowers (which will look just as nice as real ones in photos), don`t serve dinner at the reception (instead do finger food or appetizers), get a friend to DJ with music from MP3 players, get disposable cameras instead of a reception photographer, get a friend to do photography at the wedding.

And my favorite tip: have your caterer make a cardboard cake. They make the tiers out of cardboard and frost it just like they would a normal cake, and only make an actual cake for the part that you will cut. Then the guests can be served normal sheet cakes that can be cut in the back and served.
