J Crew Emmeline Guipure Lace Gown - Size 4
For sale: J Crew Emmeline limited edition wedding gown. If you know of this dress then you know what I went through to get it!
I have the size 4 sample gown (stamped "SAMPLE" on the inside which is NOT visible on the outside). The dress is ivory silk covered in a heavy knit lace (Guipure lace).
The dress has been professionally altered for me; I have size 4 hips but a size 2 bust. I am 5`6", but was fitted wearing 3 inch heals so it has not lost any length. I did not get married in this dress, worn only for my fitting.
The gown originally sold for $1800 or so, I paid about $1500 (because it was a sample). J Crew had it dry-cleaned for me because it was a sample gown. I have the original J Crew catalogue that featured this gown and my store receipt.
This gown is perfect for a spring/summer wedding, but my feeling is that it is too summery for a fall/winter event.
