You can arrange for a member of your bridal party to notify your DJ or band to play some outrageous music - like a trumpet fanfare or something - to get your guests` attention when you`re ready to enter.... They`ll know something "big" is about to be announced. OR, you can entertain the guests in a separate area with drinks and appetizers, then, have the Best Man, the wait staff, or your wedding coordinator announce that it`s time to go into the dining area - When they walk through the door, you and your groom can be dancing together in the middle of the room! Guests will pour in and give you hugs, and you can thank them for coming, etc., before you all take your seats.

I am a former wedding planner, and what I have done before is use the entrance as a special opportunity for your "first dance". Prior to the wedding party entering, the family or other selected people get a small candle, as do the wedding party. When they enter, the party forms a circle that the bride and groom walk into. The circle closes and the happy couple have their first dance.
