Am I reading this right? You want a stranger to subsidize your wedding? It`s not about the wedding, it`s about the marriage! Have a small intimate wedding - you can do it for a few hundred $ tops!

How about a small wedding with just close family and friends and a simple dinner after. That will not cost much. If a family member or friend have a nice back yard, you might be able to use that

Actually im having the ceremony in my uncle and aunts backyard, so im saving money there, the reception is where the cost comes in. Ive already booked a pretty big hall at a cheap rate, but catering is out of this world as far as cost.

How about asking close friends and family members to help you prepare simple refreshments - fruit, cheese, dips, small chicken salad sandwiches, etc., and look to a local grocery store with a good bakery for your cake. Use flowers currently in bloom (whatever is blooming in your area, depending upon the time of year) or inexpensive silk flowers submerged in water in simple vases (the kind you get when someone sends flowers - ask friends to collect them for you.)
Friends and family (so sorry parents are not in the picture) will likely be happy to help and participate in this way. Learning to live within your budget, and realizing that it is the marriage, and not the wedding, that is most important, is a real sign of maturity. The backyard idea sounds great; you could also do a picnic-style reception, which would carry over your backyard theme. Good luck.
