Tatoos
I am engaged and the wedding is not until March of next year. I have several tatoos on by sholder blade, I would like to disquise for the wedding. Everyone in my fam and friends have seen them, but I just thought it would look tacky, pretty dress with tatoos peeping out. Anysuggestions as to styles that would cover, or any suggestions period. I love my tats, but they won`t match the day. Thanks

Have you thought about wearing a shawl? That`s what I`m going to do. 1: to hide my tats on my shoulderblades 2: to cover up my arms
My wedding is July 2003, I didn`t want to get a dress that has sleeves since it`s in the summer I knew sleeves would bother me. And of course if I happen to get hot at anytime I can just remove the shawl, can`t do that with sleeves! Good luck.

My cousin has a purple rose on her right shoulder/back. When she got married she incorperated her tat into the wedding. She made sure her dress did not hide the tat and used purple roses. Depending on what your tats are of you might want to just incorporate the theme. This would also add a personalized touch to the wedding. Most every one there already knows you have the tat - so there is no need to hide it.

Try a jacket. There are some really nice jacket designs and dress designs that match.

Why don`t you first try a professional make-up artist. If you go to hair and make-up schools their advanced classes in make-up so that werid make-up for movies. It might not cost you as much because they`re students.

My tat is of a butterfly...hence the butterfly theme of my wedding. I bought these cute little activity books $1.50 at Michael`s one has fake butterfly tats, stickers, wax coloring book so the butterflies can be colored in and used for window deco...for the kiddy table.

I am a professional make-up artist that has been in your situation. I do suggest make-up as I am sure you would like to wear your dress without any distracting extra`s. Most professional beauty supply stores do sell tatoo cover that is water and rub proof all are easy to apply, and I am sure you will have a make-up artist that will be able to help you blend and apply the cover. You can also find many brands on the internet, just search "tatoo cover ". Good Luck!

My daughter is Maid of Honor in an end of May wedding....her gown is gorgeous with a halter style bodice...she also has 2 tat`s, both on arms/shoulders...instead of trying to cover them with make-up she had a shawl made of the same fabric.
We have found that depending on the size, #, and brightness of color of the tat`s the make-up wasn`t a viable option....also there are gowns made with a shawl look to them without having the seperate piece.
If you do decide to try the make-up see if you can get samples and try them well in advance to see how well they cover and duration of wear. Good luck
