Planning The Shower

My daughter is the MOH for her friend`s wedding. No friends from the brides side or the grooms side of the family are planning a shower. Other bridesmaids are sisters of the bride or the groom. Is my daugher required to plan, host and pay for a wedding for all female wedding guests from both families as well as friends? She is taking on the responsibility for the bachelorette party and is really stressing out under the financial strain of being the sole host of a wedding shower for 100 people.

A shower typically ranges from about 5-20 people although there can be more or less.

Remember that people want to get a chance to spend time with the bride, so make sure that the number of people keeps the shower somewhat intimate.

Typically the MOH is the one who throws the shower, but not always. I have done showers thrown by sisters, mothers and mother-in-laws. Most brides have more than one shower as well so there aren`t too many people at one and it isn`t overwhelming. If she`d like some help, have her email me at janelle@eventsbyjd.com. I can help her plan it so it`s a bit smaller and help her save money.
