Cure For Red Blotchy Neck
Over the last several years, a message board was on this site where hundreds of people were discbribing their red, blotchy necks. It was so nice to see, for the first time in my life, that I wasn`t alone in this condition. This time, I am writing in hopes some of you will visit the site again, because I have found an absolute cure!!!
Like anyone else who suffers from this, I knew the cause (over-reacting sympathetic nervous system). I have been in therapy for years addressing this as though it were an anxiety issue. The therapy is very helpful; it helped me grow and become a better, happier person. Yet, my neck was still red and blotchy in stressful situations or when I was on the phone or had a glass of wine or sometimes for reasons I didn`t even understand. It became the worst part of my life. Frustrating because I knew that I wasn`t more nervous than anyone else; my nervousness just showed up as if I was fearing for my life. My body was sabotaging me and misrepresenting how I was really feeling.
Then 2 months ago - I came upon the cure by accident. I was talking with my Dermatologist about it and he said "oh, we can take care of that easily". Using a laser treatment called IPL or Intense-Pulsed Laser. I have had my 1st out of 3 treatments and I cannot believe the results. The blotchiness is already 95% of the way gone!! It is sooooo wonderful. There are no side effects. It is a bit pricey (about $300 per treatment) and is painful - like getting a tattoo. But I highly recommend it!!! Worth the money and pain for sure.
My dermatologist is Dr. Gary Lee, PhD, MD in Irvine I recommend him, but if you are not in the area just go on line and search for IPL and you`ll find a list of doctors licensed to perform this treatment.

Hi. I seen your post was back in 2007 now it is 2008. Just wandering if the procedure you went through is still helping your red blotchy neck. I do the same thing & hate it but, it only effects my neck & upper chest. It is so embarrishing specially when someone talks about it. I know it is red & I don`t want to hear about it. It happens when I just nervous, feel sick, or anything. Tried allergy meds like the Doctor said & it didn`t work thought it was high blood pressure but, that wasn`t it either. Just wandering how you was. THANKS

Hi. Sccakjones.
It`s been a year now since i had the IPL. It did help a lot, but I still have the outbreaks every now and then. They aren`t as bad or as often, but it wasn`t the cure all it seemed to be at the beginning.
