Planning 2 Early???

Hi,
My boyfriend and I have been going out for 4 years and 4 months. We discussed about getting married and he said he wants to do it this year. I told him he better do it before November (our 5 year anniversary) and he said he will. So knowing that I have been looking at wedding magazines and we went to go look at the mansions in Newport, RI. But he is getting upset and told me that I am starting to plan things too early, he said that he has not even proposed yet. What do you think? Am I getting to excited and look silly planning things now or am I right?

You most definitely should start planning! If you wait until the last minute, you`ll be rushing, getting stressed out, and then get on each others nerves. I don`t think you want that! You definitely want to start on getting the wedding and reception sites planned, or what you are looking for may not be available later. Also get the minister and photo/videographer reserved. Hope this helps...

I also live in RI and am trying to find somewhere for my October 25th reception. We checked out the Newport Mansions, and in addition to being overwhelmingly expensive, they are booked solid. I would recommend Goddard Park (the carousel building can be done beautifully for a large wedding) or one of the hotels in Providence, as both seemed to have more available openings.
Good luck!

You might want to discuss your feelings with your boyfriend. You should clarify with him when he wants to get married. Does he want it to happen immediately after proposing or a few months after? If he wants to wed soon after proposing then you are smart to plan ahead, but if he wants to wait , then perhaps you are planning too soon. I know the temptation to plan your wedding is hard to resist, but once he proposes it will be more official that you are getting married. Hope this helps!
