Affordable DJ For Upcoming July Wedding!

My fiancee and I are getting married in July 07, we are merging our two families and trying to pull off this wedding for under $6000. We were going to go with out a DJ and just use music downloaded but we really would like to have a DJ as we want this to be a very special and fun event for all! However all the DJs I have found are very expensive and come with lots of bells and whistles! Anyone out there know of a great DJ in the San Diego area who will won`t charge an arm and leg?? Totally desperate!!
