1940s Wedding

I am very excited to find out there are people planning weddings like mine. There is somewhat of a drawback to learning about this era -- it was wartime. There were rations! No one could really have a nice silk dress, the military was making parachutes out of it. Lots of weddings at that time were planned last minute because of calls to duty. The nice thing about this era is the inexpensiveness to it. I am wearing my grandmother`s dress from 1946 and it is VERY plain and weddings were the same, simple but elegant "looking". That for the most part is the 40`s style, plain but quietly elegant. Kind of a drawback for me but it was more important to wear my grandmother`s dress. Good luck girls!

My fiancee and I are having a 1940`s/Hollywood film themed wedding. We only have a little over 2 weeks to plan it but everything is going great. His suit is inspired by Frank Sinatra and my entire outfit is inspired by Audrey Hepburn. If you`d like to see pictures of how it turned out just email me at Skybluu86@gmail.com. The wedding is June 16th, 2007. Well byebyes.
