Cheap Wedding
I have very little money. My fiance` and I have been together for about 3 years now and we have five childeren (he has 4 I have 1). We have a guest list of about 30 or 40 people. I have already bought the wedding dress, but no luck on brides maid dress or flower girl dress. Tuxes are still up in the air. Since most of my wedding party is our children, we have to buy everything. We have about $1000 to get a church and reception hall, decorations, tuxes, brides made dresses and the rest of my wedding attire. What can I do??? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have seen very pretty dresses for little girls at Walmart for $19.00 - $24.00. They would be great for flower girl dresses, or junior bride.

We too have no money for our June wedding. We are using our church at no cost, making our own stuff and keeping it cheap. I found 3 bridesmaid dresses at Cato`s for $10 (all 3 for $10), my groom and his men are all wearing a black suit. I`m having a seamstress make the guys and my ringbearer (my son) ties and she`s altering all the dresses as well. His mom and grandmom are giving us our reception as our wedding present but we had only wanted a bride`s cake (made by a lady who used to work at a bakery), some nuts, punch and nibbles. We planned on spending $1000 but we won`t get close to that. I bought my dress at David`s Bridal for $99 ($599 dress marked down). We are also doing our own flowers and borrowing what we can (greenery, guest book pen, etc).
Try asking a local church to help you.
Try looking on the internet under "cheap weddings" or something similar to get craft ideas. I`m also making the ring bearer`s pillow and flower girl`s basket. Thank goodness for fabric glue LOL.

Thank you everyone for your imput. Everything has helped. I was planning on getting an Easter dress for my flower girl. My junior brides maid is about in an adult 10/11 size so frilly easter dresses are hard to find. My boys (grooms men) are wearing black slacks, white button up shirts and black or violet (some kind of purple) ties and black shoes. Only the groom and best man is wearing tuxes. I got my invitations at the dollar store and I have a computer to print on them. You wouldn`t believe all of the great stuff you could find at dollar stores. Well thanks to everyone and if anyone has more ideas I`ll be glad to take them.
Thanks again Ronda

I am getting married in june, and my fiance and i saved a lot of money on the rental of the church. If you belong to a church, get married there. Most members will either get a dicount on rental or get for free. Also, if the church has a gym or an auditorium, you could have the reception there.

For the dresses, try the discount stores like Ross, TJ Maxx or Marshalls who have nicer dresses for a lot less than the original price (sorry didn`t mean to sound like a commercial). For the reception you could also consider any friends family members with a nice garden or backyard. You could make a tent wedding look very beautiful yet informal.
