Wedding For 5000
I live in Virginia, Hampton Roads. I just got engaged and would like to get married in October of this year. Right now we don`t have any money saved but we think we can save around 5,000 by Oct. Do you think this will be enough to have a nice wedding? Or should we put offthe date untill we can come up with more money?

How big is your wedding? You can make things work within your budget. You can also make your own invitations. Have someone like a family member or close friend cater the food. Find the talents within your family and friends, I am sure you will come up with lots of help.

You can definately stretch $5k! Find a facility that doesn`t add alcohol to the "per head fee". My reception was at a bed & breakfast. We bought the alcohol ourselves & the B&B offered an appetizer, food station set up for $25 per person. Much less than a sit down, served reception.
I sell seal-n-send invitations & they`re very reasonable! I can sell all invitations, ceremony & reception accessories at 20-30% off.
Oh & consider silk flowers! Fresh boquets are $75 & up!
Happy planning!

Hi Dee,
You can absolutely do it with that budget. First, if you or someone you know has a nice house with beautiful yard, you will save a fortune or follow the other persons suggestion with a B&B type place. October is pretty much the start of the "off season" for most wedding vendors and I bet you can find photographer/videographer/DJs for a pretty good rate. You have a lot time to do your shopping, so just be patient, call on your friends and family to help out as much as possible but most of all, just know it is very doable and have a blast with the experience. :)
