I emailed Target5 today with my experience with Ibex. I hope Neha really does get her raw footage. If she does, I`m asking for mine.

I wanted to let you all know that I did receive a phone call from Target 5 and they are going to report our story. Hopefully this will give us some leads and open up some other opportunities.

I don`t know if this is too easy, probably you guys have this info already, but I found this place while looking for work in Champaign.

Jared-Does this office/building address exist? And is this company located there? I was told that this address is not valid and does not exist because he moved to the Chicago Area.

702 Bloomington is an office building. I spoke to a very helpful gentleman in one of the offices who said Ibex hasn`t been there for about a year. He thought they were still in town there somewhere. He will post if he finds them.

Here`s a location supposedly in Tinley Park. These are just addresses I`ve found on the internet so I have no idea if they actually exist, but they are listed as locations for Ibex Productions. This one is on the south side of Chicago.

I don`t know if this is related to the scam or if its a legit company which happens to have the same name.

My suggestion would be to use what some TV channels have, such as `help me howard` to deal with situations like this. Also, fox five might have a segment simular to `help me howard` ;check out the web site for fox five news, and cw11. Good luck.

I wanted to let you as well as others know that I already checked out that address. It is a mailbox at a UPS building in the Tinley Park area. The mailbox was Alex`s for sometime but he stopped making payments and they closed the mailbox down and threw out all the mail.

This posting is so upsetting to me because i have been a recent victim of Alex`s...i booked him in December of 2006 for my wedding in August 2007. And he was so nice and accommadating. And then someone on the "the knot" posted that he couldn`t be trusted and she was right i have not been able to get a hold of him. And now i am out of $500. He did my friends wedding in 2004 and did an amazing job, i dont know what changed over the years? Please let me know if there is ANYTHING I can do to get my money back or at the very least see this man punished.

Did anyone know that Target 5 was airing the segment on Ibex last night? I kept watching this posting for info on when it would air, and evidently I missed it. Does anyone know if it was taped and maybe sent to YouTube? I would love to know what all was said, the story on the Target 5 site was very short. By the way, Alex emailed last night saying we would get our video this week. Anyone else hear the same?

I would urge everybody to contact the state`s attorneys office and file a complaint with them... That may be the only way to get this guy.


I just found this thread by searching after seeing "Ibex Weddings is a fraud" on the video. I am the girl from the knot K. Desai posted about.
I worked for Alex, it`s been about a year ago now. I left because he never paid us on time. I wasn`t quick enough, unfortunately - my last two paychecks from him bounced and he has never paid me. I am not the only former employee he owes money, either.

I`ve had a few brides contact me because I was the one they talked to... Alex would never talk to anybody. He wanted the rest of us to lie, stall, and avoid brides who wanted nothing else but their wedding video. It was one of the worst experiences of my life and I only stayed as long as I did because I felt like if I left, nobody would ever get anything.
I guess I was right, and I wish I wasn`t. I am SO MAD that after he "went out of business" and started giving all kinds of sob stories to his employees, clients, and even his landlord where he was renting office and apartment space, he would still have the nerve to be taking deposits from people, with no real intention of ever giving anybody their wedding video.

There is so much I don`t know if I`m allowed to say... I feel horrible for everybody who paid for their video (or photos, as shortly before I left Ibex had just started doing photo work) and never recieved anything. I hope that since this story has finally got some public exposure, the ball will get rolling and everybody will recieve what they deserve.

We moved to this location in January 2006 from the 702 Bloomington address someone else listed above.
The office on University was abandoned, around August 2006 if I remember the timeline right... There is no address forwarding attached to that address; the landlord has tried in vain to find an address where he can send the mail that is piling up but Alex never gave him one.

Lynn-Of the checks that did clear, do you have a routing number or an account number? Can you contact your bank and get that information? What did Alex look like? I have my email address listed, can you email me so I can email you pictures and you can let me know if this is Alex? Do you know the city in which Alex lived? I don`t understand why you wouldn`t be able to say what you know? At least point, you may be our best lead!

I spoke to a FBI agent today. He said that based on the information I have, locating Alex should not be a problem. However, for things to get rolling I need to know specific information from ALL of you. Please email me the following information:

Full Name
Your Location
Date of Event
Type of Event
Alex`s location at the time
Amount Paid to Alex
Indicate if he video taped the wedding

Lynn, can you please email me all the information regarding you, what is owed to you, and any account numbers you have for him.

I will put all this information in an email and copy each of you on it as I send it to the FBI.

The agent indicated that they need to know exactly who the victims are in this case, how much they are owed, and where they are located to help track his location to put a stop to his activities.

Please send this information no later than MAY 1st.

I actually made a trip and visited the bank he was using; it was (is? He may still have the account) in Mattoon, IL. They couldn`t give me much information at all because of all the privacy laws that are in effect now. All they could do was tell me if my checks could clear (they couldn`t.)

I`ll keep an eye on this board and give any information I know. Somebody WILL catch this guy eventually, I know it. I was thrilled to have gotten an e-mail this morning from an old co-worker about the article because now, finally, people will have to take notice! It can`t go on like this much longer, I hope.

It makes me feel sick that he did this to everyone. I`m really, really sorry to everybody who lost their money and may never see their wedding video. I want to assure everyone that none of us (except for Alex maybe) did anything with the intent to rip you off. His employees, his subcontractors who filmed with him, and the photographer he hired to shoot a few jobs when Ibex started doing photography... We were duped that he was running a legit business just as much as you were.
I recognize how important this video and your wedding memories are to each and every one of you. I have been trying my hardest to get somebody to DO SOMETHING about this for nearly a year now (including paying a visit to Timothy Johnson`s office! Hey, Tim Johnson, did you know people are committing fraud in this state and nobody wants to do anything about it?) and I am hoping finally, finally this can all end for everybody involved.

I am going to see if he is still working or not. I am setting up something. I will get back to you. I can`t believe people do this.

I just noticed that one of his websites has changed. Www.ibexweddings.com now says they will no longer be taking new jobs, and promises that all current jobs will still be produced. Does that mean someone will still edit them? or will we get raw footage?

I have also paid $1200.00 for a video from Ibex Studios and received nothing. My wedding was September 2, 2006. The thing that upsets me the most is that he has been doing this since October 2005. He obviously knew he was going out of business and took our money anyway. He stole our memories of our most cherished day. Like everybody else, I just want the raw footage.
