Hi Jessica, Congratulations!!
That is such a wonderful idea!
If you could share some information on what you have picked out already, that would help to give ideas on how to combine. If your dress is Ivory, you could go with Ivory and Gold (50th is gold) You can even combine off white & gold. You could do an Old Hollywood Theme. Or a Fifty Theme. Your head table could consist of Bride, Groom & Grandparents. Even if you do have a Bridal party. Just set up a special
Table(s) for them. If you are using a stage, set you, Groom & Grandparents on the stage and the bridel party on the floor in front. You could do a picture thing for the centerpieces. On half the tables do pictures of you & your man leading up to your Special Day & the other half with your Grandparents leading up to their 50th. If you are doing a slide show, surprise your Grandparents with one of them also. For your cake, I would make it your own (just what you want) Than make a small one to complaiment it for your Grandparents. They could cut their`s when you cut yours but you will still have a few pictures of your own special moments. Only purchase between the two cakes what you would need to feed all the guest. Another idea for the cake would be to do cake centerpieces. (individual 8" cakes on each of your guest tables and a small one that you & hubby cut) When you cut yours have the longest married couple at each table cut the guest centerpiece cake. Hope some of these ideas help.
Happy Planning, Cheryl
