Childrens Entertainer
I am really interested in becoming a childrens entertainer. Do you have any advice of where to start? and also if I need to take any courses. This is something I am hoping to do/start up within the next couple of months. Thank you Helen

Your have several options. First: find a childrens performer and volunteer to be his/her assistant. Or just attend a few shows.
Second: find a local magic supplier. You must walk before you run and once you purchase your first piece of apparatus, instructions and "patter" or script is included. You wil need a minimum of 20 minutes of perfected material in order to do a show. Once you have the apparatus, you must do some free shows for anyone who will have you. Practice makes perfect and these free shows are a great place to perfect your skills and a good place to be "bad". Join a local magic club, read some library books, go online for free or paid effects, (www.tricks.ws) take a theater course.
