Nightmare - Maggie Sottero Sent Me The Wrong

The most dreaded thing for every bride has happened to me! - My wedding is in June 07 and I ordered my dress (from the new collection by Maggie Sottero – Aleta) back in Nov 06 and it arrived last weekend but the Ivory swatch I got sent does NOT match the dress that arrived. The dress that arrived is the light gold colour (this is so NOT the colour I wanted).

I have sent it back to the Maggie Sottero distributor in England and they have said that the dress IS IN THE IVORY that I ordered!! - Which I know is NOT true because:
- The dress they sent me, in my so called `Ivory dress` does not look Ivory - It looks gold.
- My so called ‘Ivory dress’ material matches perfectly the other dress material in the shop that said `light gold` on the label.
- It doesn`t match the dresses that have tags on called Ivory, which are in the same material and by the same designer.
- It doesn`t match the swatch I was sent when I ordered my dress. My swatch is off white and my dress is gold!

Ultimately I don’t really care what colour they call it, I want it to be not a pure white dress & not a gold dress but a slightly cream / Ivory dress! Not hard you would think especially for an award winning designer "including five prestigious DEBI Awards, eight Desert Rose Awards, two Diva Awards and two Dallas Rose Awards"...

I am asking if anyone out there can offer me advice on where I go from here.
As you can imagine I am feeling a little desperate as my wedding is 3 months away and I`m feeling the clock is ticking.
I really want my dress (Aleta) that I ordered in Ivory (not white & not gold). Please email with any suggestions to clareham1@hotmail.com Have you had the same experience?

It sounds like it is the shop, not Maggie Sottero, that is messing with you. Have you talked to Maggie Sottero personally? Look on their website for a phone number to call. Tell them the situation and which shop you bought the dress from. They are usually very picky about who sells their dresses and how they sell them. Also, did the shop have a Maggie Sottero Certified Dealer sticker posted? If not, you might ask about this. Did your dress come with a Certificate from Maggie Sottero? If not, it was supposed to!
Are you living in England or someplace else? I have a friend who owns a bridal shop who sells Maggie Sottero and I will be glad to try and help you.

I too would call Maggie directly. A few years ago, I was planninga wedding, paid $600 downpayment to the store and found out while waiting on my dress to arrive that the bridal shop went out of business. Eventually. After a long fight and several phone calls I got my money back and maggie offtered to allow me to purchase the dress at cost through another botique. She`s a great designer with class. Say a few prayers and then spill your guts. Maybe she`ll take the dress back and give you what you want. Good luck. Let us know what happens. Sincerely, Kimmie
