Mothers Dress

My daughter is getting married and the grooms mother is wearing a red long gown. This is the color of the bridesmaids dresses also. Is this appropriate? It seems to not bother my daughter.

I am getting married and my soon th be mother in law will be wearing the same color as the bridesmaids just like mines will be wearing the same color as the groomsmaan. It sort of a sign of accepting the other person into your family.
