Fall Centerpieces
I am having an October wedding and am in a loss for centerpieces. Colors are burgundy and flowers are gerebera daisies and roses. Having fall leave decorations on cake as well as scattered on tables, etc. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

I too am having an October wedding. I have been thinking about pumpkins as a centerpiece. I am having mums as my main flowers. I think what I am gonna do is put the mums in the pumpkin and use the pumpkin as a vase. I have a few other ideas if you want any help?

I am also having an October wedding...my girls dresses are cinnamon (rust brown color)...they are awesome. I have no idea what to do for centerpieces either. I want to do something with pumpkins, but they aren`t in season until late August, early September in my area. If anyone has any ideas for anything else...please let me know. Thanks ...and good luck to all of you out there as well.

My October wedding color is wine, and my flowers are fall wildflowers. For centerpieces I bought two black garbage bags full of silk flowers at my local Nursery and Craft store. They were on clearance for 75%+ off. I bought sap buckets at another craft store and painted them ivory so they looked old and scraped up. I filled them with the silks. Each centerpice ended up costing about $15. They look incredible.
I have to remove all decorations, at the reception location, at the end of the evening, so the rest of the table witll be garnished with fall leaves, twigs and tealights/votives. Easy to throw away!

I`m getting married in late Fall so the leaves will mostly all be fallin` but I still going to use them. I`m also going to use small pumpkins, the mini ones and cut the centers out and use then as candle holders. Plus I`m taking some small whiskey barrels and cutting the in half and putting some flowers and small pumpkins in them with leaves and cranberry tiggs, Then surround them with my tiny pumpkin candles and other candles. Canberries are a cheap and easy add to for any design.

My Mom and I made my centerpieces. At the end of the season we went to a craft store and bought 12" glass vases. We bought pumpkin spice potpourri and filled the bottom with about 2 inches then bought fall silk flowers (rust, reds, oranges, browns, golds) placed them inside. On top we put an ivory bun candle (it fit perfectly) Then we tied a gold filagee ribbon around the necks of the vases. They turned out so nice. We will then place fall silk leaves around them on the table. We bought everything on clearence and they only cost about $6.00 a piece. Though anyone who saw them cannot believe we did them or that they were so inexpensive!

If you are doing cut pumpkins store them in a cold place or do it last minute- stinky pumpkins are not attractive. Better yet have your florist take care of them.
A great option to cutting them is dusting them with gold or copper spray paint. The just glisten in the candle light!
I was at a wonderful reception last fall that had little sheaves of wheat standing as center pieces with rust colored mums tucked in and scattered around.

I am also having a fall wedding. I really, relly wasnted pumpkins for my centerpiece with fall flowers inside of them. However because I wanted real pumpkins its a last minuite project that no one really wants to tackle just before a wedding. It seemed alot of people were doing pumpkins too....are you waiting till the last minute to carve them or did you find something to put inside so they don`t rought? Another idea I came up with is to take a clear bowl place it on top of a square mirror, and put cranberries inside with a large pilar candle in the middle. And spread fall leaves around the table.

I had a fall wedding last October and I absolutely loved what we did. We had three tiered beaded shade candle lamps in bronze on a third of the tables, with small votives arranged around the centerpiece. The other third we had a small fall flower arrangements ( flowers were orange/ brownish/ cream roses with grapevine twine in the bottom of the round vase. The other third where tall bronze iron pieces with flowers flowing off the top. The table clothes were cream tablecloths with sheer gold organza overlays. It was beautiful. I loved it. My most favorite part about the dinner was the mash potato bar. Martini glasses with mash potatoes. With all the sides to choose from. Everyone loved it , they thought it was so different.

My wedding is in October; my girls` dresses are wine. The colors for the centerpieces are wine, fuscia, dark oranges and some yellow for contrast. We are doing 2/3 of the tables with a large bowl with white floating candles, with mini gerberas floating with the candles. The outside will be a ring of greens with large flowers heads stuck in for color. The bowl will be on a mirror. The other third of the tables are the large two-tier arrangements, and those tables will have votives scattered around.

My wedding is on Saturday and for centerpieces Igot small grapevine wreaths and stuck some very realistic silk fall leaves in them then stuck a large candle holder in the middle with floting candles. They cost about 3$ each to make and everbody who has seen them so far said they look really good (or they are just being nice).

I don`t know if this sounds like a good idea to anyone, but I`m planning a October 2004 wedding and I thought it would be really cool to do something more with apples. I`m buying small apples crates ($3/crate) and then putting about 6 carmel apples inside of them (wrapped of course and you can make your own or buy them at the store). Then I`m going to put some cranberry garland around the crates and have two votive candles on each side of the crate for a little romance. Just an idea. I do want to include pumpkins, so I`m using small ones for place card holders (take pumpkin make a horizontal slit and stick the name card in - easy and cheap!!).
