Tickled To See The 1940`s Theme

I am so tickled to see that someone else is doing a 1940`s themed wedding. I have not been able to get much guidance from the web on this theme. I was moving towards the martini glass with pearls and some fushia feathers for accent. I would love to see you centerpiece pictures.
A couple other items that I thought I would share with the forum. I purchased a poster of the "kissing the war goodbye" to place on an stand at the wedding. (The sailor kissing the nurse) Also, I found a hat from the salesplace in Balch Springs, TX. It is a short brimmed hat and my mother added a birdcage veil with a "poof" in the back and the veil over the front. It is really big but absolutely beautiful! (and very 1940`s). As well, I have my groom in a classic zoot suit and the groomsmen in the penguin suit with tails.
Another thought, we have purchased vintage brooches from ebay for really cheap. Those will be given to the maid of honor and the mothers. As well, one will adorn my hat.
I hope this information helps someone else prepare for this theme. I am really interested in any other items incorporated into a 1940`s wedding.

I purchased old wedding greeting cards from the 1940`s off of Ebay. I printed my own programs and placed them inside the cards - that way, each guest had a different program and a true keepsake from the era.

I am trying to plan a 1930 - 1940s wedding but I`m also struggling to get ideas off the net. I was thinking of giving each guest a glass bottle of coke or 7up instead of punch and playing sinatra, nat king cole, louis amstrong and the like. I was also considering having my master of ceremonies dress up in a zoot suit. Do you have any other suggestions?
