There is nothing wrong with having a registry, in fact it can be very helpful for your guests who really don`t know what you want or may need.
There is no "rule" as to what store you "have to be registered" at. It could even be Home Depot; Bath and Body Works, Pottery Barn or whatever.
I myself am getting re-married March 30 and we registered at Target. We`re in our 40`s and already have the basics. So we just registered for some practical stuff that we thought we could use.
A lot of our friends thought it was great because they felt like they are getting us things that we will truly appreciate and what we will need.
Also a lot of stores now have online sites and a lot of people have expressed to us how convenient it was for them. It was especially great for our out of town friends who are coming to the wedding. This way they won`t have to deal with travelling with the gifts since they can be shipped (free of charge by the store) directly to us.
I hope this helps and I wish much happiness, peace, love and great joy for your upcoming marriage. Enjoy!

The whole purpose of the gift registry is to let your guests know what you need. Do whatever you want, it is your day.

Gift Registry just lets your Guests know your Needs to give them Ideas. Other places that have Registries are.
Target,Sears,JCPenney`s,Wal-Mart,Meijer`s Lazarus, & Pier one. We`re going to register at different Places but try to remember what you`ve registered for & keep copies of your registrations so as things change you`ll know.
