Quincinera GUEST Question ... Help!

Hi! My daughter has been invited to her friend`s (not close) Quincinera party. We were told (not by the family) that she should wear a long (i.e., prom-type) dress. We bought one, but it`s black! A well-meaning friend thinks black will be insulting. Help! We`re only a week away and can`t return the dress which was on sale. Also, can you experts suggest an appropriate gift for her to bring?

I personally don`t think it would be insulting. A lot of people where black to a lot of functions and I`m sure she won`t be the only one.

A good gift would be jewelry, cash or a gift card.

Who evr tol u that was lying b/c i wore twicw a black dress to dif 15 one had purple glitter on it and the other was jus plain black! it doesnt matter as long as its right for the occasion its fine
