Davids Bridal In Columbus, Ohio

I too have been through the wringer with the customer service at David`s Bridal. Or - lack thereof, I should say. Mine came when I went in to their shop after purchasing my gown from them. I dropped in for undergarments. I guess after the big dress commission, the salespeople get to treat you like a leper. Perhaps it`s in their handbook. I mean, the saleswoman went to her lunch while I was in the dressing room!
It`s a very long story, but rest assured, I wont go back. I`m having my fittings done by a private seamstress and telling all my friends never to go there.

My question is ... Why don`t they know this is a problem? and why aren`t they making steps to change anything?

Well it`s the same in RI. Thankfully I did NOT purchase my dress from David`s. But I did go there first to look. I was so excited to go dress shopping. After five minutes I had never felt so confused, rushed, bothersome, and fat. After the sales lady forced me into their undergarmet get up (no other bridal shop made me do that) the "sales" woman continued to bring out dresses SHE thought I would look nice in, not what I asked for. I am not a flashy person, and when I asked for something simple but elegant, I did not mean as much lace, beads, and crystals as you can possibly fit on a dress. Well anyways, now that I rambled, I suggest going to a local bridal shop = Knowledgable, kind salespeople, better quality dresses,+ discounts for your bridesmaids and alterations.

I am so glad that I happened upon this site. I am looking for a dress for my daughter since she is in Iraq and unable to shop for it herself right now. I have way too much to worry about than trying to get proper service, so thank you for making a choice about David`s Bridal easy! I will go elsewhere!

If David`s Bridal can`t make money off the dress they will surely gouge you on the alterations. They are charging me twice as much as the dress cost after I specifically asked how much they would cost before I bought the dress. We went in two weeks later for the fitting and was handed the bill. When I told them what I was previously told, the offered to take out the pins and I could go somewhere else. Whatever happened to customer service? They`re terrible!

DO NOT SHOP AT DAVIDS BRIDAL. TOO BAD EVERYONE DOESN`T LOOK AT THESE WEBSITES UNTIL AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN THERE AND RIPPED OFF AND TREATED RUDELY. IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AND I PLAN TO SUE THEM BECAUSE OF IT.

David`s Bridal is the "Mart Store" of the Bridal industry. All their dresses are so unbelievably inexpensive with the most pricey dresses at 2000 dollars. Do you go to Wal-mart and expect customer service excellece? I really don`t think you do. You go there knowing you are going to have to look through a lot of crap and do the shopping for yourself. I seriously don`t know why people expect anything more than Wal-mart from David`s.

Do you realize a David`s Bridal consultant only makes about $7.50 per hour? On a typical Saturday a consultant is given 3 to 4 wedding parties to help at a time. Then they are being pressured because there is any where from 30 minute to 1 hour wait time for people to get a consultant/fitting room. Most consultants don`t even make their commission for a pay period because they have to make a minimum of $120 an hour to even get 6% commission in a pay period.

When you go to a cheap store you get what you pay for in merchandise and the experience. *News Flash* if you are paying less that 1000 for a dress it`s cheap, so stop thinking you are some big spender and get over yourself and put yourself in other peoples shoes.

As the owner of a store, understand, I would be happy to take home a paycheck most of the time, or even have an hourly wage such as $7.50 an hour... You can sometimes get the better customer service going to McDonalds rather than Red Lobster. And I don`t think that the tip is percentage of the check. Should I tip less because I got salad rather than a steak? Absolutely not.

If David`s Bridal is a "mart" store, which I agree, because I call them the walmart of bridal, then why does every bride leave after dropping $2k, pressured into a David`s credit card, and then go home wondering what the heck did they get for their $$$. I have very happy brides that have spent $199 on a gown, and never looked back. I actually have sold gowns to many David`s employees. You don`t have to spend a ton of $$$ to get quality or customer service. Of course, couture designs, come with a couture price tag, which is understandable. The fact is, just because you are on a budget doesn`t mean you deserve to be treated like dirt. Every bride should be treated the same, especially after the "budget" discussion. They do at my store.

I have come to believe that employees like Ann want to purposely treat their customers poorly as a sort of revenge for the poor treatment and salary they are receiving from David`s Bridal. LeAnne is correct, no matter how much you are paid, your customer service should not diminish. Newsflash for you Ann: If you don`t want to work there and you`re not happy with what you are paid, go work somewhere that is better suited to your personality instead of trying to ruin brides` wedding days and blaming it on the fact you make $7.50 an hour, that is pure cop out on your part. Perhaps karma will teach you some wisdom.

For everyone else, Davids Bridal credit card is handled by an entirely different company, therefore, if you have an issue with the service or material received from Davids, you have no recourse against them, it will affect your credit score just the same. In addition, you can never reach any executive at Davids Bridal to complain, not the CEO nor the Dir. Of Mktg. They purposely do not publish this information online and will not give it to you if you call customer service. It takes months to receive a reply from customer service and they too, are just as rude and uncooperative as their sales people. The basic message from those of us who have already made this mistake, spend your money elsewhere and pass the word to your friends that this business is not above the bar, they are a sneaky, slimy company to do business with.

Ann, here`s a newsflash for you. WalMart has way better customer service than most places. I don`t think you can compare WalMart with David`s Bridal.

Hi Jenna,

You know, I`ve wondered the same thing. I have thought of contacting the Attorney General`s Office here and printing off all the complaints I see all over the web and asking them to do something about it.

It`s almost as if the sales girls are on some weird mission to try and ruin other people`s wedding day. I`ve never experienced anything like it, but like you, I tell everyone I know not to shop there. I think they figure it is a one time sale anyway since it is a wedding, but what they don`t realize is how many future sales they lose from referrals. From what I`ve seen on the boards, the sales girls are paid so little that they are not inspired to care.
