A memorial is used to acknowlege a beloved member of either the bride or groom`s family who has died. I have done them before and it usually consists of a small table/ column with a candle and arrangement, which can be as simple as a single stem of a favorite flower, with a photo. They can be place off to the side of the altar, in a foyer or other honored place in the ceremony. The deceased can also be acknowledged on the wedding program.

Almeta~It is my fiance`s mother that is passed. How can we honor her in the program? Who should light the candle?

You can create a text box and put a nice border around it anywhere in the program that you choose. Make a statement something like "A candle has been placed here to symbolize the presence of my beloved mother at this ceremony. It is lit at the beginning of the ceremony, during the same time other candles are lit. (Candelabras, votives, etc)
