Help...Trying To Plan A Wedding On A $12,000 Budget
Hello everyone. My fiance and I were planning on getting married 11/9/2007, but a few obstacles have made us change to 3/28/2008. I know sponsoring a wedding is hard to find, so I`m trying to look for as many deals as possible. My fiance`s family really can`t help out that much and my parent`s are trying their best. I`ve bought many bridal magazines and books, but don`t know where to start. I`ve spoken with a few planners, but I can`t afford what they are asking for. If anyone is in the Atlanta area, please contact me at lesleycmiller@yahoo.com. Thank you!

Hey I know it sounds obviouis, but you can save a lot of money by renting out a community center or city facility for your reception. See if family can chip in and help make food. You can also find the number of a local bartending school to hire a bartender for the night. Buying your own alcohol will always give you the drinks you like and a cheaper option. Also handmade silk floral arrangements are just as beautiful but last forever...... Im planning on a 6,000 dollar budget in cleveland GOOD LUCK!

Hi Nicole, I was wondering if you could give me advice on decorations. My fiance and I have a 6000 budget as well and plan on renting a hall and asking our family to help make food like you had suggested. I still want to set a fantastic setting tho. Any ideas and suggestions will be a great help!!! My email is ab33arch@aol.com Thanks!!

Hi Lesley,
Check out Craigslist in your area. There are many people who want to sell their wedding decorations. I too am trying to do the same thing. I have tropical/garden themed wedding decoration if you are interested. My email is cltanner56@yahoo.com

I am a wedding coordinator in CT, so I probably wouldn`t be able to help you on site. But here are some budget friendly ideas.......Re use the flowers from the ceremony to decorate the reception. If the bridesmaids have flowers, all they will do is set them somewhere for the reception, so get vases and decorate the cake table with the BM flowers. Dependent upon your creativity and time, purchase the flowers and create the bouquets and centerpeices yourself. There are so many books on how to do this, and it is kind of fun. A trip to Staples, and for minimal funds, you can print your own invitations, thank you cards, menus, placecards, etc. Vista print is another great site. A lot of girls order from there because they have amazing deals. If you can find someone to bake you a cake and decorate that will save you a lot of money too. Someone that has taken a cake decorating class or who knows how to create tiered cakes will be best. You can also opt to serve desert other than cake (which I love!) Pies and cupcakes are really popular right now. Stores like the Christmas Tree Shoppes, Big Lots, and dollar stores will have inexpensive favors and decor for you to use (and no one will know!). Get creative and you can do a lot with 12K. Weddings do not have to cost a fortune to be amazing and sometimes less is more. Good luck and congrats.
