Hi.
I have some left over fish bowls from my reception if interested. How can I send info?

Use fish bowls as your table centerpieces. You can float flowers, candles, or plants on top. The stones at the bottom can coordinate with your wedding colors, as can the fish.

My cake guy said one couple made a cake top that had a groom standing on the top tier with a fishing pole who has "hooked up" with the bride who is sitting on the second tier. It is really cute. I am having trouble finding a bride and groom for this so Im going to the toy store.

We, too, are having a fishing theme at our reception. I`m going to use decortive fish netting ($3.95 each @ ustoy.com) for table covers and for table decorations fish bowls with live minnows (instead of goldfish) with a small fishing pole hot-glued to the edge ($1.99 each @ Hobby Lobby). Any other inexpensive ideas would be appreciated! We`re getting married in July.

We are doing a wedding theme and it follows a "fishing motif". My wife made chocolate fish suckers with her candy molds (Merkens Chocolate is the very best!!!) and put them on the tables at the guests seats. We also created a movie poster (called a "one sheet") to propmte the wedding as the opening of a new movie and we called it "Hook, Line & Sinker" because our daughter fell for the groom to be in that manner and their first date was the day he had a fishing derby.
We are looking fo items (story or poems etc...) which would tie in with our theme.

For favors:

I have seen pens that look like fish.

I`m surprised no one has mentioned fishing lures yet. You could buy fishing lures ( I don`t know how much they cost, so this may not work), put each one in a small flat zip-loc bag, print your own label and staple it over the top.

If you want candy favors, you could use Swedish fish (they`re gummis)

For the cake:

Your decorations could be the plastic plants that go in fish tanks. This is a little silly, but if you`ve got a sense of humor, you could put a fish tank ornament on the top like a castle, skeleton steering a boat, treasure chest, etc.

For the invitations:

You could use a picture of a fishing lure or a fish, or for something a little classier, a picture of a sunset over a lake or an old-fashioned engraving of a fish (check your library).

Another idea:

Fortune Telling Fish are really cheap and really light. They are little red cellophane fish with gold printing, and when you hold them in your hand, the way they curl will tell your fortune. (The fortunes are printed on the little envelope they come in.) They are so light you could include them in your invitation without adding any weight at all. Or you could use them as table favors -- they`re very entertaining. They are super cheap at:

Dear Bride to be
My soon to be fiance would also like a fishing touch to the wedding. His idea is to have the groomsman hold their fishing rods to make an arch for us to pass under as we enter the reception. Best of luck to all of you.

You can have a cake made of anything these days so i suggest having your cake made like a bass in a pond around it.

My daughter is getting married in June,2004. For a cake top we found a precious moments figure of a boy and girl holding a fish together and on the bottom it says "oh-fish-ally friends for life. We plan on using this as the cake top. We are also decorating trees with bobber lights, and the nuts and mints are in a small wooden boat for a bowl.

We found a wonferful cake topper, it is the traditional bride & groom, and they are holding a fishin pole. Very cute! We are using the Miracle Fortune fish as favors (found em even cheaper than site mentioned earlier...at ebay you can get 40 of them for $4.00, but the seller does not charge S&H!
We are also using the minnow in a fish bowl idea. One thing I am still trying to find info on or ideas for, is that I want the ring bearer to actually carry a mini fishing pole, with the (fake) rings dangling on the end.

Using the fishing theme as well (fav hobby!) What did you use for a caketopper? Did you incorporate fishing in your announcements? Thank you for any advice!
