PLEASE HELP

Hello ladies i need help, I am a 25 yr old woman getting married to the man of my dreams, I just lost my job due to being sick in the hospital (for 3 months) i was in my probation period thats why i lost my job..missing to many day.
Anyways, im having a very stressful time right now i had alreadly paid for the chapel, and rev, and half of the flowers, invatations, and decorations, and my dress
I havent paid a dime tward the rings, cake, yet or any thing for the reception. I have NO money to spend on these, nor does my fiancee" ( half the stuff we have is cause he payed for it)
We already put $$$ down for most of the stuff and cant get money back.
Does any one think it would be tacky to have no reception??
We are barly making it and cant afford that. We love each other very much and i have look forward to this day for a long time now... I though everything was going to go as planned but then a lost my job everything fell apart now im left stressed, crying about "how are we going to get marry"
Please help.......
Thank you,amanda B

Try making your wedding less extravigant. Look at what you have paid for and what you still have to pay for and determine what you can do without. Have less flowers, make some of the decorations and gifts yourself. Look back at some of the postings on this message board...Ive seen alot about saving money and doing a wedding on a tight budget. I think you`ll find some good ideas. As for the reception, I think you should have one. I mean that is the part of the wedding that is the most fun. After all that work and stress planning and the nervousness of the wedding hoping it will be perfect. You need that party at the end. But you can do it cheap. Have it in your backyard or a park or a friend`s house. Have people bring food, like a pot luck reception. Or just serve cake and punch. I hope this helps some. Good luck and have a great wedding.

Amanda,
There are many people who would love to help you still have the wedding of your dreams. (Yes, hardly no cost, just because we are blessed.) How can we contact you privately?

Does the chapel you`re getting married at have a parish or community center available to use for the reception? If they do they may be able to let you use it free of charge or very cheap. I also agree with having it at someone`s house or park and having a pot luck or informal barbecue. I attended a wedding last year that served cake and punch, and I had a great time. You don`t have to spend a lot of money to have good time. Good luck.

Jessica.... The place im having it at is the rev. Home in there back yard.. It cost extra for a reception there.
I would have it in my back yard but i live in a duplex.
And where i live ther isnt any really nice parks, plus i looked in to it .. It woud cost me $400, it it was cheaper i i would have it there....
