Ideas For His 40th Birthday?

My partner of 4 years (soon to be fiancee) is having his 40th birthday in 3 months and, of course, doesn`t want a big fuss made - though I have other ideas! However, none of them seem good enough! I want to organise something suprising and sensational (i.e. Not bowling or a 50`s themed dress up party) but keep striking out. Money isn`t too much of an issue. I would really appreciate anyone`s help!!

Hi Melinda

I would love to help. I custom make all of my items so what if you did a "theme" that was all about his past 40 years. I can work with you to do different centerpieces for each table, maybe on representing his High School, mascot, graduation, etc. If he went to colllege we can do one for his college, job, favorite movie, sports team, etc.

Email me anytime - we could do this very fun. You may see some examples of my work at www.cmbcrafts.com

A great idea would be to have a "Casino Night" with different gaming tables and a hosted bar. You can give guests "money" to play with during the party, and when they finish, they can use their winnings to buy raffle tickets. You can raffle off three nice gifts (paid for by the host) at the end of the night. This can be done at someone`s home, or you can rent out a banquet room or even charter a yacht, depending on where you are located.

If you`re not into gambling...I would suggest gathering up his best friends (no matter how near or far) for a wonderful dinner party, great wine, and fun conversation. Friends make parties memorable, and life sweet. A client of mine held a dinner party similar to this for her husband (he was turning 45)...The look in his eyes at the end of the night told me it was a party well done!
