Quinceanera
Hi,
I`m also doing a project about Quinceanera for my 9th grade Spanish class. So if anyone can write me with
Any personal experiences with Quinceanera, information, or specifically, about the dances at Quinceanera, that would be
Very helpful! Thank You,
Alicia

It a tradition that girls turn in to woman. We have big parties with all the people you want to celebrate with. There is mostly all mexican food. You have damas those are girls that are very close to you. Then you put a guy with the girl that guy is called chambelan. There is about seven girls and boys they dance in partners. After you dance with your dad. And from there you do what usually you do in normal parties. The party ends really late about 1:oo in the morning. That`s all i now.

The dances can either have a dj or a live band. I had a live band at mine. Cost $1200 for them to play from 8pm until 1am. I also had Mariachi`s there too. They sang some songs in spanish to me and then they went around to all the tables and sang songs while the people were eating dinner. They cost $350 to play for an hour. Once the band got started and the lights went off, the dance started. Even my grandmother who could barly move was out on the floor dancing away. The movement of the dance hall went in a counter-clock-wise motion, with different patterns of feet movement. Some were cumbia`s and some were traditional "boy-girl" dancing. Even the 2yr old kids were out trying to learn how to dance with the older ones. It was definately a night to remember if you have anyother questions for me feel free to email me at pguana@hotmail.com and I`ll be happy to answer you.
