Wishing Wells

I would just like to say that asking for money is not something new and in some cultures money as a gift is expected. I got married 25+ years ago, had already moved out and set up home my M-I-L was appalled so I had to tell people, most were extremely pleased. This year I am organising my daughters wedding and we will be placing a wishing well at the reception, no one knows who donated what and it would be ignorant and not in the spirit of the wishing well to do so. I didnt get the wedding I wanted but I do know my friends who supported my marriage through my wish of money and made the start of our married life so much easier!
