Pronovias Oleaje
I am wondering (since website doesn`t list price) if any one knows how much the 2007 style Pronovias "Oleaje" dress costs? I saw it in Brides mag. And then went to the website. .. Their gowns are the best I have ever seen and I have to have this dress.
Thanks for any help.

Hi gals,
I tried on a few dresses and then came across the Pronovias Oleaja dress in a magazine. When I went to the boutique they told me they weren`t getting until sometime in January but luckily, they just got it last week. I tried it on and in all honestly, this was the dress that made my eyes water up, I wanted to cry! It is such a georgeous dress! I ended up trying a few others but at the end I ended up ordering the Olejea. I ordered it in the Ivory color. I was just wondering, what type of veil to get. I tried on mantilla and that took away from the dress. Then I tried on a shorter one, about elbow length with crystals all around it and I think that one looked better. I`m still wondering though. Also, I loved the neckline and although I originally wanted a strapless, sweetheart shape, I really think that the straps adds that extra special classy look. For that reason I don`t plan on wearing a necklace, rather accenting on the earrings. I`m leaving my hair down with soft curls. I would love to hear your ideas! Thanks!!

Just purchased. You need to go to a trunk show; 10-20% off. Around 2,000.

Hey Sandy,
Are you from Toronto, as well? I got it for $1100 + tax....so it came up to about $1250.
I`ve tried on other dresses and honestly, this dress - was just WOW. It`s gorgeous, and unique from all the other dresses. Have you tried it on yet?

I also ordered the Oleaje in ivory. I love it love it love it! With 6% tax, it came to around $1350. I ended up getting it at a bridal shop in Feasterville, PA. All other shops said they wouldn`t have it in until February, but luckily this shop had ordered theirs as soon as they could.
I don`t plan on wearing a veil with my dress. I`d rather my hair be the focus of my head! But I think that since the back isn`t very elaborate from the shoulder blades to the waist, it shouldn`t be too hard to find something that doesn`t detract from the dress.

Wendy - I have not seen the dress in Ivory so I can not be of much help to you. I can tell you that the jump from Gold to White is drastic and I do feel that the details are lost on the white. I wish you the best of luck with choosing your color, it is a hard decision! But you have great taste! Good Luck and let us know how it goes!!!

I purchased the Oleaje last month and can`t wait to get it...though it will take about 6 months to make it here. But I was just wondering what kind of bustle any of you girls had put into the dress. And also, I know the size I ordered is going to be a bit big in the waist and hips. I was a little worried that alterations in that area would be difficult/expensive because there is so much lace applique and pleating going on in that area. Did any of you have problems? Or have similar worries?

I just read over a lot of questions I had missed on this board so I`ll do my best to answer from my experiences:
Angie - I got a cathedral length sheer veil to go with the dress. I found that anything shorter cut the dress and I felt that any details on the veil took away from the beautiful train. I do agree with you about no necklace and just earrings. I also plan to wear my hair down in soft curls and will only wear the veil for the ceremony.
Gina - I have not had my alterations done yet, but my dress has come in in it`s correct size and I was told the alterations would be very easy too do as the seem is "clean" (whatever that means). As for a bustle, I`m considering finding a broach that will match the detail on the train and bustle it with the broach. Either way, the over bustle with one point definitely looks the best and allows for the details and the train to show the most.
If anyone else has thoughts on bustles, I`d love to hear them!

Greetings from Germany,
I just wanted to share my experience with you about this dress that everyone`s talking about. I tried it on yesterday. I`ve seen all 3 colors (white, ivory, and gold) and they were all pretty. I decided to go with the ivory since I`m brown-skinned. The gold made me look pale and white made me look too dark. Well, if anyone`s got any questions, I would be more than happy to help. Good luck to all of you.
Cheers!
Marie

I am wearing Sworaski crystal dangly earings with the dress, no necklace. The color of the crystals is like a butterscotch so it matches the color of my dress. I`m not wearing a necklace because of the complexity of the top of the dress.

Ive been reading about this dress and decided to check it out , it is beautiful.
What I am wondering is, about the size you girls ordered. Hope i am not getting too personal.
Ok, I am a size 8 in jeans , 5.7
Thinking a size 12 in this dress ? maybe you could share some input on this. Just worried on how this dress would look on me .

I tried on the Oleaje in gold and can see the seam of the last layer of crinoline (?sp) through the dresses outer layer - Is this a problem in Ivory? Has anyone figured out a way to fix it?
Kristine: where did you find it for 1100 in TO? I`m in London, Ontario and the sticker price here is $1265
Thx!

Ordered my dress in June and am taking on the task to make my own mantilla veil. As you know Pronovias doesn`t provide swatch samples and I`m trying to match a lace to the straps. If ANYONE can send me a picture of those details I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Just checked out ValCollections online as recommended above. Don`t know if this is signifcant, but the size chart for the Oleaje is not the same as the one 2 local stores showed me as the one for Pronovias. I ordered a size 8 off those charts, but I would be a 6 on Val`s.

Tracy,
I am a size 6 too, but I tried on the 8 and I felt comfortable with it. Whichever is the biggest, let`s say you`re bust and hips is a 6 but your waist is an 8, go for the 8 `cause you can always take it in. (Whew) you scared me there for a moment. Hope that helps.

The dress price ranges from 850 to 1700. If you go to a bridal shop the dress will be in the thousands. I found this dress at an online store for $820 plus 25 for shipping. Just go to www.valcollections2.com and search their pronovias collection. I tried the dress on at a bridal shop and loved it but the price was 1600. I found it at the above website for almost half price. I would check it out.

When I went to a store to try on the dress the size on the tag was a UK size. I think the one on valcollections is in american sizes. How do I know which size to order? Do I need to just take all my measurements and go off that?

Does ValColletions2.coms sell the real dress or are they knock offs? I was quoted $1360 here in California and i`ve love to by it for around $800 if possible only if its the real deal.

Hi. I`d also like to know if www.valcollections2.com sells real Pronovias dresses or knock-offs? The dress is beautiful, but I can`t find it anywhere around me (NY) for anywhere close to the $840 price.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Val Collections does not sell Knock offs. Its the real deal and takes between 20 to 24 weeks to order overseas. I bought my dress there and saved a lot of money. If you live in CA it ends up being more like $930 with tax but if you live outside of CA then it is just he $840 plus $20 for shipping and insurance.
