Free 2-Nights At Viva Res From Royal Prestige

My fiance and I attended a bridal show and a few days later someone from Royal Prestige called me and said that we "won" a 3-free night hotel stay at Divi resorts and that we just needed to attend their presentation. We attended the presentation and then were offered the opportunity to upgrade to the 5-star all-inclusive Viva Resorts for 2 free nights and 3 days if we bought one of their cookware packages. We were also told that we would get additional nights for 66% off. Well I called Spirit Travel (the travel agency they get the trip through) and they said that we do not get 66% off of additional nights. Has someone actually received this deal? Thanks!

My fiance and I got that same call in Aug. `02. We went to their seminar, we bought the cookware package (all $2000 worth), and got the trip vouchers. I did not check on the price of extra nights, but you do have to pay a $75 security deposit, it is not valid on holiday weeks, and they only have certain rooms alotted to those free vouchers. They only cover the hotel room, not airfare, not food, and not activities. If you do decide to buy their stuff, PLEASE read all the fine print BEFORE you purchase. Don`t make the same mistake I did and buy something you don`t want, don`t need and CAN"T get out of!!!!!

Yeah, we bought the cheapest package (which was still over $700) so we could get the free 2 night all-inclusive package (which was supposed to include extra nights at 66% off but wasn`t true). They ended up giving us a package for $100 a night for 5 nights for the same all-inclusive vacation at the Viva Resorts which wasn`t too bad but then my fiance talked to a travel agent who said that they make you attend timeshare presentations while you`re there, which is something we don`t want to do on our honeymoon. In the end we decided to go somewhere else so this is a lesson learned for us. To summarize, don`t buy the cookware just to get the free vacation because you can find even better vacation deals elsewhere that even include airfare.

I just got the `you won the free vacation` phone call. My fiance and I attended a bridal show and that`s how we `won` this. Fortunately with the internet I was able to see how much questionable business this company has attached to it`s name. Yeah, it is too good to be true and not worth my time even pursuing. I am glad that I read these posts. Thanks

I just got the call too. I think that I will be willing to sit through the talk and just not buy anything for a free vacation. But i dont understand. Do you still get the vacation, or do you have to buy it in order to get it?

I just went to one of the siminars tonight. In every product, you will always find someone who is unhappy with the product. How many messages have you seen where people actually say how much they enjoy their cookware?? That`s because people have more time to complain then to brag.

I would say as far as the siminar goes, my fiance and I went and did not have intentions on buying anything. You are basically just going to redeem your prizes they told you over the phone. If you choose to order the products, that is your choice. I believe that this is very similar to the KIRBY vacuum. KIRBYs are not cheap, nor are they found in stores, but they are definatley well worth the money in the long run.

As far as the cookware goes, well, it all depends on how conscientious your are about your health. We are in late 20s, but still, we are dying earlier these days than we used to! I am very concerned with our health. Did you actually try how the vegetables tasted?? No seasoning, but yet were so flavorful??

For all of you who are complaining of your experiences with the company, all I can say is that you live an you learn. If you know that retail stores finance normally at a 21% interest then it should be no surprise. (JCPENNEY, SEARS) A 90 days same as cash is offered.

We actually bought the 17 set of pans, cutlery, silverware and 4 place settings of china. Yeah, so we paid $2400, monthly payments are fairly reasonable if you choose to pay the minimum, or do as I do and wait until a credit card offers you a low interest on balance transfers, then switch the balance!

This cookware, dishes, cutlery and silverware has got a 50 warranty on it? Can you beat that??? I believe that the cutlery (or one of them) even has an "unconditional" 50 warranty. Meaning if you broke the tip off your butter knife because you couldn`t find a screwdriver, well, they`ll replace it.

How much more could you ask for?? Besides, how many people have gone and actually started pricing how much nice china runs, and if it breaks, can you replace just one single piece???

I don`t think it was a bad deal at all. We did receive the initial trip, with the coupons for airline tickets, free film from kodak, Lifetime 40% discount of any royal prestige product and an additional trip or so.

The representative was very pleasant and informative. I am truly sorry if you did not have a good spokesperson introducing the products to you.

Just remember, trust your instinct. Besides, even if you only by half the china now when you are starting out, I believe it would give you more of an incentive later to finish out the set! Good luck to you all!

Well if you want the cookware and can afford it then getting the trip is a bonus. The cookware is pretty good though pricey so make sure you really want it before buying. My point is, don`t buy the cookware just to get the all-inclusive vacation (like we did) thinking that you will save money on the honeymoon because you won`t. If the trip is your motivation for buying the cookware, be sure to ask the right questions and get everything that is promised in writing to make sure you are truly getting a deal. To answer the question about the free trip, they did give us a free 3-night hotel stay at a 4-star resort just for attending the show.

I went to a presentation for Royal Prestige last night. I thought the products were really nice... But I am not willing to spend $2000 on pots and pans with out checking them out! After looking around on the internet today I see that my decision was good one. It seems that there are a lot of people unhappy with this company. (and Shawn above... Come on! he obviously works for the company... Hey buddy if you want it to look real, make a shorter less detailed post.) And yes they gave me the trip voucher even though I did not buy anything. All in all the presentation was ok but I wouldn`t buy the products for the going price.

I was called just this evening and was told i "won" a trip also just for attending their showing in my town. After reading this i am wondering if i should go and refuse to buy a thing and see if this is a scam first hand. If it`s not a free hotel stay and airfare would be pretty sweet! so do you really have to buy nothing or what??? help, i have 2 days to decide to go or not.

Okay, let`s straighten something out. For one, I am not a `he` and no, I do not work for the company. I am though someone who is familiar with shopping. Honestly, if you thought about all of the money you actually `waste` every year on frivolous items, how much trouble is it to actually put some of that to a good use and invest in a product that is willing to warranty their product for 50 years. As far as paying $2000 for pots and pan that you didn`t get to check out, what did you do sleep through the presentation? Ask questions if you`re really interested.

As far as being curious about the company beforehand and checking it out on the internet, well I did the same. Yes, I found articles of the companie`s bad experiences and even lawsuits. But in all honesty, everything that people complained about had been corrected. I don`t want to influence anyone`s decision in either way, but just know that you don`t have to buy it if you don`t want it, but it`s definitely a good deal if you can work it in your budget.

My fiance and I just went to the seminar not knowing what we were going to see. We were told it was a cooking show. Then we get there and got a huge 2 hour sales pitch, we bought into it and I came home after spending $2000 on pots and pans and looked this company up on the internet and now I think I am going to call and cancel our order, do you know how many law suits this company has had??? Mainly for the false claims that we bought into, and they are still being sued, maybe that is why it is so expensive so that we the consumers pay for their lawsuits. Think twice before buying into this.

I just went to one of their shows last night, and I`m really not sure what to think. I mean, if all of what they say is true, then it would be a great investment, but if it`s not, (and who`s to say it is true) then they`re pulling a scam on everyone. I just don`t know what to think. I did buy the cookware and cutlery, but I already have some, and I`m not sure I should have bought it anyways because of all the lawsuits I saw, and the unhappy people with their products. I`m just not sure what to think. But I do know that if I`m not happy, I will be one of the people that sues them.

Wow! Were me & my fiance` dooped! I cant believe we got rapped up in this sham of a company! We got the same call claiming we "won" a trip..all we had to do was have someone over our house to drop of the tickets and take a survey...well, the cookware looked pretty good..and quality I must say..so we decided to purchase the 17 piece set for 1300.00. Later that evening we talked it over, deciding it wasn`t a priority right now considering we`re getting married in a few weeks (end of Aug.2003) so we read the small print on how to cancel..It clearly said to mail your letter of cancellation by ordinary mail, or telegram.. We chose ordinary mail..(and made copies of the letter of course)Now, the office is claiming they never "received" the letter. (yeah right we only live a few towns away in Long Island) and that we`re obligated to purchase the cookware. We`re currently disputing this and will continue to do so until the very end.... The only way we are paying is if a judge orders us to do so. P.S. And they know what they can do with those trip accomodations....

Sounds like Shawn works for them. I heard the same line he just posted from a salesman word for word.

I bought a set, then luckily changed my mind within the 3 day grace period.

I did some looking online, you can get an exact same set of cook ware for like $300. The same 9-ply construction and all of that.

Ask them to leave the food in the room while they prepare it and see what they say. "No seasonings.." ya right. I asked them repeatedly and they kept avoiding the issue.

Another lie is that they say you have to buy today and if you want it later you can`t get it. Thats just a high pressure sales-tactic, and is completely false. You think if you come to them in a week that they`ll refuse your money? In a year?

Avoid this company completely.

I was called just now from someone at Southern Bridal and decided to check this all out on the internet. What I have found is that this is all just a bunch of bull. The girl told me that I had won a trip for two to one of the Divi Resorts and indicated which ones (Caymen Brac, St. Maarten, Barbados, Bon Aire, and Aruba). She said that they will cover $200 per night for the hotel stay. I would also get a 35mm camera and 100 rolls of film to go with it. And if this all doesn`t sound like it`s enough, a 40% discount on china, cookware, and culturay. All me and my fiance have to do is attend one of their cooking classes.

I was really excited to hear about this since I did register to win it, but it sounds like it`s more trouble than it`s worth.

Has anyone else gotten this same offer and what do you think about it?

As for Shawn (Shaun?), you need to work on being more conspicous when typing your messages. Like everyone else that has commented about you, obviously you work for the place and are trying to make people feel better about this, less like they are being taken.

I really don`t understand you people. Honestly saying I don`t work for Royal Prestige, but I`ve bought their products about 9 month ago, and I am very pleased with them. Evereything that was done or said during the presentation about their products is in fact true. I did get the trip and enjoyed every minute of it. You have to make a diposit but they give it back to you. There are no "timeshare" presentations to attend.
As for the lawsuits... Lets be realistic here... Nowadays, who doesn`t have one? or had one in the past? do you REALLY care? You are buying the product, not the company. (but I understand most of you wanted the trip not the cookware and now most of you are just trying to make excuses of why you did thee right thing and attended the show and did not buy anything).
Good luck to all of you! and I hope you won`t be so sceptic about other companies. Some of them really don`t deserve it.

I didn`t even go to the meeting/seminar.

Liora can say what she wants, but I`m registering for cookware so I don`t have to buy it. I registered for the contest because it said "Free Vacation", not because it said free vacation with purchase of cookware or your time taken to see a seminar.

I`m very leary of these kinds of things because it is usually something that comes back to bite you (HARD) later!!

Of course everyone is entittled to their own opinion, and mine is don`t waste your time!

How do you get the vacation deal, and which place was good? Any tips for when were there.
Forget the fact that we are stuck with the cookware, I want to take advantage of the vacations...
Does anyone have any good advice?

My fiancee recently attended a cookware show and decided to purchase a certain amount of Royal Prestige cookware because, frankly, we need that kind of thing right now. I`m away from her at the moment, and she told me over the phone.

Personally, I don`t know a thing about cookware except that it returns with every other thing, and not a few people, to the earth whence it came, and that I don`t like to shop for it, so getting it replaced on a per-item as-needed basis for the next 50 years is worth something--more to some, less to others. My fiancee, however, does know a thing or two, so she knows best.

She didn`t mention a thing about prizes, trips nor anything related, which is just as well. Neither of us goes somewhere to deal with something else: cookware and vacations are separate entities entirely, and there`s no reason to evaluate cookware, as other things, on the basis of anything except its own merits.

Vacations, like sets of cookware, are plentiful, and there`s one to fit every budget, I suppose. Contests and drawings have been around long enough that their dubious reputations, benefits and advantages should be well-enough established that the average consumer will bypass them as considerations when the decision comes to put one`s hard-earned purchasing power on the line. Me, I`ve never won anything in my life, and even discounted items have had their prices.

I probably will never attend a cooking show; in fact, I see myself spending time in concocting ways to avoid those and similar occurrences. But I`m sure to pay a lot of money for a lot of things in the future, and I know I can`t faithfully buy a pan and dream of parts unknown at the same time.

I say that if you want cookware, buy it and suit (and inform) yourself; if you want a vacation, well, that ain`t exactly cookware, and chances are there aren`t many who would see themselves, in the normal run of life, going to cooking shows and consulting travel agents all in the same day--maybe even the same week!
