NO ONE WANTS TO MARRY US!!!!!!!!

I live with my fiance, and I am having a hard time finding a preacher to marry us, they all want him to move out, or they want alot of money to marry us. I don`t want him to move out, but I don`t want to have to pay a rediculous amount of money either. If anyone has any suggesstions it would be appreciated

Thanks Natalie

What denomination are you looking at, or does it matter much to you?

We looked at Presbeteryn and Anglican before settling on the United Church. And none of them had any issue with us living together. In fact, I think they were happy that they were going to be stopping us from `living in sin."

As for cost, we are paying about $350 for the honour, which includes the church, a rehearsal, a minister, and someone to clean it up afterwards. AT first I thought that was a lot, but when I thought about it, it`s less than 5% of our budget. And by that time, I was so sick of hemming and hawing over it, I just wanted to pick a place!

Hope that helps. I`m in Canada, where costs are probably higher than in the US.

Im extreamly surprised no one else mentioned this... Have a friend do it. Have a close friend of realative be ordained, it is so easy and 100% LEGAL!!! (this is what I plan to do I am in the same situation - I am also ordained and plan to marry my cousin in April) Not to mention it`s FREE!!! and who would want someone who doesn`t want to marry you, marry you? Not me. Just think of the honor it would be?

Just Go to...

Step 1: (Universal Life Church) http://www.ulc.org & get Ordained (your friend actually)

Step2: check with your states laws and see what they require ((ie. Ask if you must (1) file a copy of your credentials with the state, (2) be licensed by the state, (3) be the pastor of a congregation within the state, or (4) be in communion with a religious society before solemnizing marriages. Many states have no requirements beyond ordination, but you need to ask.)) And your set.

If you don`t belive me call and ask a lawyer they`ll tell you its all legit!

*** Also you have the option of going before a judge and asking for a legal ordaintion for a day and he will ordain who ever you want for that day. :)

Check these websites.... Http://www.ucmi.org/ucmi/laws.htm & /or http://www.bridesandgrooms.com/laws/us_states.shtml

WHAT STATE ARE YOU IN? I`D BE HAPPY TO HELP YOU. I RESIDE IN FLORIDA. THERE ARE AN INCREDIBLE NUMBER OF ORDAINED MINISTERS WILLING TO HELP PEOPLE SUCH AS YOURSELF. WE ARE NOT SEEKING RICHES. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AFFILIATED WITH A CHURCH. YOUR FAITH RESTS INSIDE OF YOU, NOT A BUILDING. LOG ONTO THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL CHURCH OF THE WEB. FROM THERE YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO FIND A MINISTER IN YOUR AREA.

Ask a judge from the court house in the county you live in. They will come to where you are at. Usually $150 for the service.
