Urgent, Color Advice Needed

My wedding is on April 21. I always thought I would do lilac as my color, especially since it is right after Easter, it`s springtime, my hall is champagne and purples in the rug and furniture, and it just seems like a logical choice....BUT I`m really flirting with a teal color. The scheme would then be teal, white and silver...Not sure what to do. I worry that it might be obnoxious and not complimentary to the reception site or inappropriate for the season. I don`t want it to take away from the elegance of the evening.Thoughts??
