50th Anniversary

I am wanting to give my parents a 50th anniversary party and i need a little help. What day does april 8th of 2006 fall on and am I planning to far ahead at this time? beginning this year i`d like to start on the money issue with my siblings so that the funds will be there when the time comes to start dishing out. What all do i need and can i get some suggestions. Thank you, irma
