I was reading your message and if you go to marthastewart.com you can sign up free and then look in her bulletin boards and it is like this but they have lots of good, but unexpensive ideas. Hope this helps.

I am also having an outdoor wedding only in april...i am freaked out it is going to rain...anyway, for decs I made tall lily arrangements to set by the chairs. I also have an arch and the tent gets lights and ivy. Table decs and pedistals. I considered the tiki lamp route but changed my mind. Good luck...there is so much to consider. I wish i could send you a pic.

Martha Stewart has a wedding book with lots of pretty things. Maybe you could find it at your local library, so you don`t have to purchase it. If you have a rail along your porch, I`d say weeve tulle and ivy or grapevine around it. You could even stick some flowers into the weeve. You can buy tulle at Wal-Mart for about $1 per yard. Also, if you can get the hurrican lamp style globes and place candles in them to line the "isle" that your daughter will walk down. Maybe make a lattice of some other type of archway to be on the porch where your daughter will stand. Maybe on the tables you could do bowls with a mixture of floating flowers and candles. Walmart.com has some great deals on flowers. You can buy them in bulk.
Good Luck!

I know how you feel about palnning an outdoor wedding. My fiance and I are looking for ideas, were getting married third weekend of Sept, 2004. Now, i think since your place is a farmhouse, i`m wondering if wildflowers or arranged grasses wouldn`t be a good idea.. The miss`s thinks it`s a good idea since it`s going to be in the fall.. But, what other ideas can i help you out with.. E-mail me i`m all ears..

I`ve seen a picture of hundreds of tiny white lights along with garland strung through chicken-fencing. It was then suspended overhead. You couldn`t see the wires at all. Why not take it a step further and experiment with curling ribbons or realistic looking grapes cascading from certain areas... I intend to do the same for my own outdoor wedding and reception.

My wedding is next June. Garden Ridge has a large array of silk flowers that look very real.

My thought was to decorate the trees and bushes with white lights and ribbon in our accent color. Not bows... TP style handing down like weeping willows.

I want to use silk flower everywhere except for the reception centerpieces. For that I was also thinking about real flower heads and candles floating in glass bowls.

I have already learned not to waste money on bridal magazines. Find it for free on the web!

Wind chimes could add a wonderful touch to your outdoor event. I have a line of chimes on my site that are suitable for adding to floral arrangements. You can visit at needafavoronline.com and visit The Unexpected category.
