Gifts At Distance Wedding

I need advice. I am getting married in Minnesota, but my fiance and I live in Alaska. We will be limited in time and cargo space and shipping is not only outrageously expensive, it is highly unreliable. HOw does one politely say to please send gifts or give money. I do not want to appear greedy or selfish, I just don`t want to stress out about shipping crystal and other gifts some 3,500 miles.
