Asking For Money Instead Of Gifts

I dont think requesting cash instead of gifts is tacky but intelligent, If you word it correctly and make sure the people know that if they dont bring a gift that is fine but if they do you would prefer something for your savings pot. I think people who call this tacky are extreimily rude as it should be each to their own.
