I had a black and white wedding a few years back. The flowers I used were white callas. I have recently done some white calla bouquets for other brides and wrapped the handles in white satin with an black ribbon overlay in a criss cross pattern and pearls where the x-s meet. VERY elegant. The flowers are silk but look very real. You can see pictures of the flowers on my website at www.simplyclassiccreations.com (the callas I talk of are in the handwrapped gallery and it`s just callas with nothing else)
We had purchased program covers for our ceremony that were white callas on a black background and ran a white ribbon through those. You could also get black paper at the craft store and use velum overlay in white lacey material - very elegant. The reception pieces were clay pots painted black with the rim painted silver with our wedding date stenciled on there and all white flowers with greenery and some silvery beading. Our favors were cds of music that we both loved - the label we made with a calla lily flower and the case was black.
