Bride`s Personal Attendent

My cousin asked me to be her "Personal Attendent" for her upcoming wedding. I told her that I would be honored. Unfortunately, I`m not quite sure what my responsibilities involve...and I`m unable to find information anywhere with that title. Please help!

I`m in the same boat! I am 17 and a single mom that I baby-sit for is getting married this summer. She asked me to be her personal attendent because I am organized and bossy (or at least that`s what she says.) I want to do everything right for her because she has welcomed me in to her family so much in the past 6 years! She is 33 and her fiance is terrific! I love him to pieces. What should I get them for the wedding? I want to be the best, because they know that`s how I am, but I am a lot younger and can`t afford everything! I don`t really know everything that I am supposed to do the day of the wedding either. If anyone has any information, e-mail me and let me know! Thanks.

The biggest thing the personal attendant does is help out on the wedding day. By possibly helping pin on the flowers, to decorating, and timing everything out on time to make the day completely stress free for the bride. Any plans that need to be taken care of on the wedding day the bride usually does not have time for, so that is the personal attendants job.
As far as helping out before, just keep asking is there is anything else you can do to help. Sometimes, the bride doesnt want to ask you to do things because they dont know if you will be willing to or are too busy to, so just keep letting the bride know that you are there to help with all things. Here are some other things you could do to help:
-help address the invitations
-get a planner or make up one on a piece of paper to schedule things out for the big day
-go thru wedding magazines for any new ideas that may help as far as decorations or whatever else still needs to get done
-a great idea is plan on taking a bunch of pictures of the wedding on the day with your own camera then while she is on her honeymoon get them developed and put them in a nice photo album and possibly do some scrapbooking to it, then give it to her when she gets back! She will be shocked and very happy. Who doesnt want more pictures of their wedding day. I am sure she will have a photographer, but your pictures wont be the same and you could take fun ones where the photographer will probably take professional ones. Dont tell her you are doing it though make it a surprise, it means more then!
-take her shopping for last minute things
-offer to help make the centerpieces if she is creating her own.
-oh and on the wedding day, offer to go and collect all of the bridesmaids and brides accessories and makeup and clothes from the church where they all got dressed and bring them to the reception. People never think of that in advance. That is a big help!!

There are just some ideas of ways you can help. It may not seem like you are a big help now, but you definatley will have things to do on the wedding day! Good luck!
