Invite People To Shower And Not Invite To Wedding??

A young women at work is getting married and has only invited 2 associates at work to the wedding. I was going to have a wedding shower for her from work, but now wonder if that is appropriate since only 2 have been invited to the wedding?

The best thing to do bout that is get her a gift and set it on her desk and tell her congrgulations if you know her well,
