It could be really fun to have someone apply hawiian-inspired henna tattoos... Hibiscus flowers, etc...
If you`re in New England, I could do it for you... If you`re not, I can help you find someone who is near you.

I just had a Luau party for 50 last weekend. We purchased decorations from the Oriental Trading Company and Themepartiesnmore.com. We also rented a margarita machine(lifesaver), tables and chairs. We also made frames and a set up an area where polaroids were taken of your guess. That`s common at Luau`s.
This site is a great place to go and find information about Luau`s www.alohafriendsluau.com. You can find recipes, places to translate everyone`s name into hawaiian and much much more.
We also hired Polynesian dancers. Tahitian dancing is my favorite but most troops will incorparate Hula and dancing from other islands. Tahitian is too tiring to do the whole time. I would also recommended that if you do hire dancers, it is only for 30 minutes. Most people lose interest after that. You should be able to find a link on the Aloha Friends Luau site for local associates. I used the Pacific Islanders Association but I am not sure if they are in your area. If you don`t have any luck there, call the local dance studios. It is hard to find dancers available so the sooner the better. For Tahitian, you will probably need at least intermediate dancers.
Oh and of course you have to have the Kalua Pork. We actually made the pork in the crock pot. If you go to your local Asian market you can find the hawaiian salt and liquid smoke. It is much cheaper to make it than have it catered. We found the recipe online and it was a big hit. Make sure to do a test run. We found that we needed to use a lot less salt than it request. Hope this helps!=)
