Wedding Dress Tags - Or The Lack Thereof...
Greetings everyone:
I went wedding dress shopping for the second time yesterday, to THE major bridal store in my province.
I was treated very well, found lots of gowns to try...but none had tags in them! When I asked who the designer was, they said something like, "We have no way of knowing...they come in like this, we only have invoices to look at...blah blah blah."
This sounds fishy to me. If I had a certain Demetrios dress in mind, they wouldn`t be able to get it for me, since they have no idea who their designers are? It sounds like a practice that makes a retailer a bad one, from what i`ve read. After all, they could be selling me a $300 no-name dress for $1,200 for all I know. The tags that WERE in them had the colour and little else...not even if it were silk or polyester.
What do you all think? Should a person shop in a store where they won`t tell you who the designer is? I`m just not buying their story that they have no idea who makes the gowns.

I read about this too. One of the reasons they do it is to prevent you from shopping around for a lower price on the same dress at another shop. Although it is difficult advise to take, you probably should NOT buy the dress from a shop that does this. You have a right to know what dress you are buying, and I guarantee you that when you order it, the tag comes in the dress! (even if they take it out before you see it).

Yes, that`s about what I thought. If they had been honest about it, I might have gone along with it...but I`m almost certain that what they told me was a lie. Like I said, they`re telling me that if I came in looking for a certain dress, they wouldn`t be able to tell me if they had it? Yeah right! Overall, the whole idea that they`re ripping out the tags makes me uncomfortable, like they`re being unethical.
As it happens, their prices were a bit more than I want to pay...I`m not sure if I`m in dreamland here, but I`m hoping to find a dress for under $600. I`m planning another shopping dress with a bridesmaid on Saturday, where we will also be visiting a rental place, so we shall see what we find there...tags or no tags!

Hi Kimberly. I have a dress from David Bridal that I never wore because my husband and I eloped to Las Vegas. It is a size 12, white satin, beaded decor. It is a halter with train. If interested let me know.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I am a size 18, so a 12 wouldn`t do. I`m in Canada anyhow, probably very far from you.
