Hi! I`m getting married July 7,2007 & from what I`ve heard so many others are also. If you are....let me know how your planning is coming along!! I come from a small town & all of the reception halls are already booked...luckily I got one. We were going to have an outdoor wedding, but with the heat rising this year, who knows what next year will be like, So we decided to have it indoors. Anyone have any other ideas for summer wedding with lots of color?? I`m using Gerber daisies, and my main color is Peacock Blue....Kinda like a teal color. Please let me know any ideas!! Thanks, Becky

Hi Christina! That sounds great!! At first I wanted to have a western wedding, and then I thought....no that`s more him than me, so I threw out the whole "theme" idea and now it`s plain and simple with lots of gerber daisies. I love color. But I`m being so anal about then invites. I can`t find any I like pre-made, or the ones I do like aren`t in my budget...so I`m thinkin` of making my own. I know it`s almost a year away, but we have two kids and time flies with us. So is your wedding outdoors? I wanted mine to be outdoors, but with the heat this year, I`m thinkin` next year may be worse and I don`t wanna be sweatin` in my dress. Lol. Well ttys! My e-mail is countryfamily@juno.com Becky

Congratulations on your wedding. It sounds nice, but just a word of advice gerber daisies while a great flower do not hold up very well in the heat, and your florist needs to know how to handle them so they don`t wilt. And even though the florist will have them refrigerated for you, depending on the location and the time frame between the actual wedding and when they set up they might not be too perky.

Oh well I don`t have to worry about that, I did everything in silk. And they look awesome. (to me anyways) and that`s all that matters. Saved a BUNCH of money too. Everyone keeps wondering why I`m already done with most of my directions, but I can`t help but make stuff I`m too crafty to let stuff be. I love real flowers, but they just die anyways. I want something I can have forever and show my kids what I was into. If I had the money and didn`t care...heck yeah I would, but we don`t so it ain`t happenin` lol. The Gerber`s I got were great quality. I know there are some silk flowers to buy and they just look aweful, and you can tell they`re fake, but the ones I got look really good. From a distance I`m sure no one will notice. The only thing I have left to do is pick out our menu for the caterer, and get my invitations. But that can wait for now. I got my dress for $250 off of Ebay....best investment I`ve ever made. It looks just like the "real" ones. Lol. I know how to shop on a budget that`s for sure. My Mom loves me! But I have 2 kids, so it comes natural. So I take it you`re doing real flowers? Lucky you ;) What kind are you having? What are your colors? ttys, Becky

Becky, I`m an event planner and I just wanted to give you a heads up if you were using real gerbers, since they do tend to be a little tempermental in the heat. I`m sure the silk gerbers look great, its amazing how far silk flowers have come. Good luck with your plans and Congratulations again.

Thank you! Yeah I thought for a moment I was still talking with the same girl, until I came back and read it again. Lol. But I thank you for your input. There seems to be a lot of posts on here about gerbers. Thanks again, Becky
