This is a great thread. I wanted to say - when planning church events, you should start with a scripture that is relevant for the pastor or church...pray on it...and then through the Spirit the theme will arise.

Regarding music, it really depends on the congregation and the tastes of the church. If you like classical or uptempo music, 1) find the artists, then 2) buy the cds or songs. ITunes, or amazon.com could be helpful.
