Wedding Deposit

Hi, I`m in need of a wedding location. I`ve been engaged for almost 1 year and I booked my hall back in May and gave a deposit of $1500.00, to make a long story short the reception hall filed for bankruptcy last week which means I lost my deposit and no where for a reception. Any suggestions to what I can do for a inexpensive wedding since I lost my initial deposit. I`ve lost my faith in giving someone else a deposit, because ALL companies fall under the same category when talking in bankruptcy terms.
