Wedding Colors In Aug/Sept...Any Ideas??

My fiance and I are planning a wedding in late August or Labor Day Weekend (the 4th) in 2004. We are having a difficult time choosing colors for our wedding. I know in-season flowers influence this, but I`m clueless as to what colors work at that time of the year. Any adivce or suggestions are welcome.

I have done a few wedding keepsakes for some brides to be that were getting married in September. One gal had her bridesmaids in a cinnamon color (not red) more like the color of the seasoning. I am painting one for a gal now who is having her bridesmaids dresses in Mocha.
I have also done a set in a dusty plum that was pretty too.

Thanks for the tips. I`ll search for some gowns in these colors.

HI THERE

IM GETTING MARRIED IN AUG AND MY COLORS ARE WINE AND LIGHT GREEN. I REALLY THINK YOU SHOULD STICK WITH EARTHY TONES FOR AUG BECAUSE OF THE SEASON "FALL".

Hi! I am getting married in August and I decided that the best color was choosen by how it looked on my bridesmaids. I had a light color in mind for the summer and then I saw indigo on the girls, and they were breath-taking! It helps to see the colors on before deciding. Remember your skin tones in the summer are usually darker which can effect the color of the dresses!

Hello!
I`m getting married August 7th and like you, I had a hard time deciding. I finally decided on coral since it`s a brighter orange and not too dark since it`s not really "fall yet". It looks great on a tan person too. Hope this helps:)

Ladies...thank you for all your help. I think I have narrowed it down to a cranberry red color. The NEW DILEMA is: should I accent this color with SILVER or GOLD. I know gold is the obvious color, but would silver also work???

Hello There,

Gold is the obvious color for cranberry, HOWEVER; I think silver would also look really nice. It all depends on how you put everything together. AND remember, there are all sorts of different silver looks. Personally I think an ANTIQUE silver and cranberry would look really nice, IF your going for a classy look. IF you are more into the "MODERN" look a chromed silver would also look really nice with Cranberry.
Hope this helps!

Thank you. I can`t wait to go out to the bridal stores and take a look at the dresses and make the final decision. Thanks again for all your input. Good luck with your wedding :-)

If you go to www.freshroses.com you can pick a month and it will show most of the available flowers for that month with pictures and their prices. I am thinking about ordering rose petals from there to sprinkle on the table at the reception. Hope that helps.
