Elegant Wedding On A Low Budget!! HELP!!!

Hello. I was hoping to get some ideas on how to have an elegant wedding on a very low budget. Our parents will be able to contribute a little. I already have my dress $236.00 and my wedding cake and grooms cake came to a total of $85.00. I am getting married in May of this year in front of a gazebo in a family members back yard. I am looking for ideas on how to make this a "simple" but ELEGANT wedding and reception without spending tons of money. Any advice and tips that you may have are much needed and appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Shannon....
Make your own bows...try doing silk arrangements, use tulle for decorating the front. You can buy that fairly inexpensive. If you are looking for food ideas, do something fun....picnic, buy inexpensive platters, or bowls for salads, and food trays, we also catered a wedding that the bride wanted a barbeque. It was nice...

Check out the Better Homes and Gardens Wedding issue. They have instructions on how to make all sorts of beautiful things.

A friend of mine talked to a local Garden Nursery who let her "rent" pretty hanging baskets and some potted flowers to help decorate an outdoor reception area. They were also able to put together the bouquetts that she needed for a very low price! She ended up paying next to nothing and her reception was beautiful!

I`m also planning a wedding on a low budget. I plan to have my bride`s maids carry candles instead of flowers. Some churches don`t allow that, but it`s very pretty when they do.

I suggest Ring-For-A-Kiss-Favor cards from theknot.com
They are neat little cards that have a heart cut of them and dangling from it is a tiny silver bell. The card lists a cute poem asking your guests to ring the card to see the b&g kiss. They can serve as a favor or as name cards. A set of 50 only costs $6.95.

I need advice as how to cut corners. Thanks.
