Simply state "adult reception" on the rsvp cards, but consider most couples with children will be out the cost of sitters on top of gifts, gas, attire, ect... Our alternitive was to find a site that allowed us to entertain children with "party bags" including snacks, bubbles, coloring books ect. We also hired a "sitter" to help the couples with children during the reception.

For our wedding we wrote "Adult Reception Immediately Following Ceremony". We then hired two college girls (friends of my sister in law) to babysit for children directly across the street from the reception hall. Just an idea-
