How Do You Find Sponsors?

Hi - I`m new to the board. Did`t realize this was such a trend or a possibility. My fiance is in the military and money is very tight. We`re trying to get married before we get transfered out of Texas - which is where most of my friends are. So, we`re desperately trying to have the wedding in 2007. We`re are already looking to cut all corners: preowned wedding dress, cup cakes to substitute a cake, buying/arranging the flowers myself.

Can someone tell me how this works, if it really helps and is anyone in Texas who can sponsor us?

Please don`t flame me - I understand how sponsorship is kinda weird, but thought I would ask.
