Southern CA Beachside Wedding In Need Of HELP!

My fiance and I are planning a Southern CA beachside wedding. I`m not very good at this...let`s just say I feel like the guy since my man is so organized and helpful in the planning and I`m not. I am trying to be more involved and am looking for inexpensive oceanview ceremony/reception sites for a small wedding (approx. 50 guests). Can anyone give me any ideas? I`ve been doing search after search online for wedding sites. Does anyone know personally of any nice places for a simple wedding? Thanks in advance for any help. : )

Where do you live now? Where is your family? Have you been to the beaches here? I live in Ventura county and I can tell you that the water here is freezing, not clear, and many of the beaches have tar (not alot but tar none the less). If I were you and you did not live here you would probably be better off getting married in Hawaii. ( It is actually cheaper to get married there!.. That is what I am going to do). But if you are set on getting married here I would look at hotels on the beach.

Have you thought about Catalina island? I know there is a house there that you can rent, have a wedding and reception there. Banning House?? I am not sure if this is the name but you may want to check it out.

Or... You can rent a home... Say in Malibu... That overlooks that ocean or is right on the ocean and have everything there as well.

Have you tried looking at Southern CA bridal guides? I am sure they have some ideas there as well.

Also..if you are a member of a particular church perhaps your minister could make some phone calls to find you a beach side chapel, if there is one??

Sorry this was not much help. Good luck.

Laura, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to respond to my cry for help. My fiance and I are actually in Glendale and are hoping to find some beachside place for the big day somewhere either in Orange County or San Diego. I have a lot of work to do as far as looking goes. We were actually first starting to look in Hawaii, but didn`t have any good luck with places there so we decided we may have a better time in southern CA. Were you able to find a good place in Hawaii? Do they set up everything for you at a reasonable price?

For the time being, I guess my fiance and I will just have to make a few trips down to Orange County and San Diego to visit a few beachside places. I`ll have to rely on the internet for now. I wish you and your fiance the best of luck for your wedding. I know a Hawaii wedding will be just beautiful. Take care and happy planning! : )
